Pain and fever are signals that something wrong is going on in your body, so looking for the cause is the first step !

Analgesics are used to relive pain. Some of them are also useful in lowering high body temperature( fever), and are thus useful in cases of common cold to. They can also treat inflammation. Despite being over the counter drugs that are widely used this group of drug can cause serious side effects if used for prolonged periods of time or in very high doses. So, always ask for your suitable dose, and don't over do it ! 

Paracetamol: ( Safest if not used in over dosage, can be used in pregnancy, most suitable for infants and children)

  • Cetal tab. and syp.
  • Pyremol
  • Pyral tab. and syp.
  • Tempra drops and syp. (Grape flavored
  • Vegaskine 

Aspirin: ( Acetyl salicylic acid)

  • Excedrin( a good combination for pain and headache)
  • Aspocid
  • Askine
  • Rivo( The most famous and trusted aspirin)
  • Infantile aspirins: ( used to prevent ischemic attacks and thrombosis at a dose of 75 mg once daily) e.g. Aspocid infantile, Rivo 75, Aspocid 75. 

NSAID's: (Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) Use with caution, and never on a empty stomach.

  • Dispercam
  • Feldene
  • Ketofan

  • Marcofen
  • Olfen

Newer NSAID's: They have less side effects on the stomach, and a powerful analgesic action. Yet, they are expensive!
